Greg Soden has an upcoming book tour date in New York City. He’ll be at Limited to One Records, 221 E 10th St, New York, NY on 30th January 2026 from 5pm to 6:30pm.
Entry is free and his trip to the East Village of Manhattan will see him speaking about his excellent ‘Unscripted Moments: Conversations with Propagandhi’ book and signing copies on the day. There will also be the last few posters and double CDs available for anyone who comes along too.
His book, ‘Unscripted Moments: Conversations with Propagandhi’, based on his superb and long-running podcast about the cult-band, has been garnering a lot of press coverage recently, mostly positive, but not everyone gets such obsession and particularness. It’s a book for hardcore kids and Propagandhi superfans really, and both Greg and us are fine with that.
“Over a five-year period, Greg Soden and his collaborators regularly chatted with current and former members of PRO-PAGANDHI and some of their associates on their podcast ‘Unscripted Moments’, discussing everything a nerdy fan's heart might desire. This allowed ample time and space to delve into even the most intimate aspects of a band's existence and uncover every last detail. The result is a compendium of anecdotes about drug experiences, touring, politics, personal matters, and a meticulous account of the songs' creation, including a detailed analysis of chord progressions and equipment used. Each chapter in this book also includes a QR code linking to the corresponding podcast episode for easy listening. On the one hand, the dedication and attention to detail of the creators is remarkable, and truly everything about this book testifies to a deep desire to make Propagandhi's work accessible to posterity. As a complement to the recently released Propagandhi tribute sampler on Engineer Records, this publication is also a logical step. And no fanzine or magazine has the space to delve into such details and background stories. On the other hand: Who is actually supposed to read all of this? I keep catching myself skimming and flipping through the repeated discussions about effects pedals and ayahuasca experiences. But at the end of the day, it is precisely this kind of passion and dedication, the meaningfulness of the absurd, that defines music as an art form. More of a book for die-hard fans or for occasional browsing.”
