Marla Watson is keeping on with her ever-increasing incredible events to promote her superb ‘My Punk Rock Life’ book and photography prints.
There was another trip to the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas recently, followed by the Fullerton Museum’s opening of ‘Punk O.C.: From the Streets of Suburbia’
This exhibit had so many of Marla’s photos, at least 30, including 3 iPhone photos supporting her new goal of being the best iPhone rock photographer in the world!
Marla also did a book signing at the Riled Up Boutique in Burbank. This shop is owned by Lisa Riley who we met at Rebellion last year.
Marla always bumps into a load of old friends.
These photos include her with Efrem Schulz from Manic Hispanics and Death by Stereo, and formerly in Voodoo Glow Skulls. (Photo by Lisa Johnson @lisajohnsonrockphotograper )

Also one of Casey Royer of D.I. and The Adolescents with his partner Rachel, flanking two of Marla’s iPhone photos taken 26/7/2024 at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach, CA.
D.I. are Marla’s daughters favorite band and these were taken on her 30th birthday.
Great pic of Lorraine, Marla’s daughter and biggest fan, there too.
The book signing yesterday at Classic Hardware / Riled Up Boutique in Burbank was for their anniversary and the store was packed with people.
A new all girl punk band called The Iron Orchids played on the sidewalk on Magnolia Blvd.
You can visit the ‘Punk O.C.: From the Streets of Suburbia’ exhibit in Fullerton, California as it runs until 10th August with extended opening times at the weekends too. Who would have thought that 40+ years later punk rock would be honoured for its importance in both community and music history.
You can buy Marla’s excellent book ‘My Punk Rock Life’ in the @fullertonmuseum gift shop. Many of her photos from the book are also in the exhibit so you can bring a piece of the museum home with you.
You can also order a copy of 'My Punk Rock Life' direct from Earth Island Books, of course!
