Here's a photo of Lars Fredriksen hanging out with Charlie Harper.
Lars has posted it, saying "Sir Charles and I back in 2014 somewhere in the smoke. Could be a UK SUBS gig. Have you heard he’s putting out a book? Do yourself a favour and snag one."
Lars, the singer and guitarist of Rancid, has also written the foreword for Charlie's autobiography, 'An Anarchy of Demons', adding; "The U.K. Subs are the soundtrack for so many of us. Charlie’s voice is one of a kind. He’s our voice of the voiceless. He’s our elder statesman. He’s our King of Punk. Long live the king."
‘An Anarchy of Demons’ is the long anticipated autobiography by U.K. Subs’ legendary leader Charlie Harper.Containing 478 full-colour pages that provide a unique insight into what made him the punk icon he is today.
Charlie’s fascinating story is told in his own unique style, taking the reader through his early years as a ‘war baby’, his time at boarding schools for misfit boys, his adventurous youth, his struggles and escapades as a bass player, his turbulent personal life as well as his incredible journey with the U.K. Subs, as a solo artist and with his many side-project bands.
Illustrated throughout with many unseen photos from his own collection, this will be without doubt, the most talked about punk rock book of the year.
The book will be officially published on 5th September and at that point will be available worldwide from all good book and record shops, hopefully local to you wherever you are, and even locally on amazon too.
For now there is a pre-order available for the full-colour hardback and paperback versions, with all first print pre-orders coming with extra exclusive goodies, such as a set of six postcards, an A3 poster and a limited edition bookmark.
These are available through Earth Island Books now, and although we can’t help whatever the postage costs to you are, we will send the books immediately we get them with the extra goodies, and as ever, provide you with a superb read and an excellent indie produced book.
Keeping it punk. Supporting the underground.
