Working with PM Press

We've noticed that it can be very tricky to get good books in the UK, especially if they are published elsewhere. A good example of this would be some of Ian Glasper's earlier books which we've seen going for ridiculous prices on some sites, so we are looking to re-release / stock them and solve some of that. Postage to and from the US can be expensive too, so we have been working to solve this by setting up punk rock partnerships. The first of these will be with our friends at PM Press.

We will be working with Ramsey and all the good guys at PM Press to co-release Ian Glasper's new book, 'Silence is no reaction - Forty years of Subhumans', both here in the UK / Europe and also locally in the US where the Subhumans have a big following too.

Whilst we were discussing this we also arranged to take some US PM Press publications that we think should be seen more here in the UK. We'll choose the best and add these to our store periodically, starting with four great reads over the next days. Two books by Ian Glasper on UK punk in the eighties and two books by Gabriel Kuhn on Straight Edge and its role in music and society.

'Burning Britain: The History of UK Punk 1980-1984' by Ian Glasper

456 pages on the history of UK punk music.

'The Day the Country Died: A History of Anarcho Punk 1980-1984' by Ian Glasper

496 pages about punk music, politics and anarchism.

'X: Straight Edge and Radical Sobriety' by Gabriel Kuhn 352 pages on Straight Edge subculture, music and activism.

'Sober Living for the Revolution: Hardcore Punk, Straight Edge, and Radical Politics' by Gabriel Kuhn 304 pages on XXX straight edge, radical politics and punk rock music.

There's more information on each of these books in the online store and we hope you'll enjoy them. We'll be add to the selection over the next months too.
