The Green Ink Sponsored Write brings together published authors and developing writers to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, and this year Jim X Dodge, author of Theta House, will be one of the authors writing for them.
Reflecting Macmillan's mission of quality of life for everyone affected by cancer, writers are sponsored for their time, not their word-count. A world-exclusive anthology of material created in the Sponsored Write will be emailed to everyone who donates BEFORE THE END OF THE WRITING DAY, (14th October) arriving in inboxes 48 hours after it's written.
The 2023 Sponsored Writers are Isabella Barbieri, Charlotte Bond, Dan Coxon, Alex Davis, Sarah Dodd, Jim X. Dodge, John-Paul Flintoff, Lucy-Anne Holmes, Marianne Izen, Roz Kaveney, Penny Jones, Rachel Knightley, Nic Lamont, Alison Littlewood, Laura Mauro, Lisa Morton, Katharine Orton, Kenny Reid, JJ Shippen, Jennifer Steil, Liam Sweeny, Vanessa Thompsett, Steve Toase and Aliya Whiteley. Title selected by Paul Tremblay and anthology design is by Steve J. Shaw of Black Shuck Books.
Writing will begin at 10.30am on 14 October and end at 5.30pm (with a break for lunch!). The writers then have 24 hours to edit their work and email it to Writers' Gym HQ to be turned into an anthology for our sponsors.
In 2022 the authors helped raise £1867. In 2021 they raised £3493. In 2020 Green Ink raised £3713. We'd love it if you could help us smash these totals for this amazing charity.
