We are delighted to announce that Charlie Harper has been confirmed to appear at the Rebellion Festival Literary Stage this summer.
A man who needs no introduction, the UK Subs frontman has been a stalwart of our scene for nearly 50 years, although that is only part of his musical journey and his endeavours beyond punk rock.
His literary stage appearance will include a showing of a short preview for the forthcoming film ‘Another Kind of Blues: the Story of Charlie Harper and the UK Subs’, as well as a Q&A and readings from his new autobiography, ‘An Anarchy of Demons’. Both the film and the book are due out later this year, and there will be copies of the book for Charlie to sign available at the event.
Charlie will be appearing on FRIDAY.

'An Anarchy of Demons' is the long anticipated autobiography by U.K. Subs’ legendary leader Charlie Harper.
Charlie’s fascinating story is told in his own unique style, taking the reader through his early years as a ‘war baby’, his time at boarding schools for misfit boys, his adventurous youth, his struggles and escapades as a bass player, his turbulent personal life as well as his incredible journey with the U.K. Subs, as a solo artist and with his many side-project bands.
Illustrated throughout with many unseen photos from his own collection, this will be without doubt, the most talked about punk rock book of the year.
The book boasts a wonderful foreword written by Rancid’s Lars Frederiksen with the book’s stunning cover artwork being supplied by Steve Dann (Magpie Art), of which the original hangs in Charlie’s house. ‘An Anarchy of Demons’ will be available to buy as a paperback, a limited edition hardback as well as an e-Book.
Charlie Harper’s ‘An Anarchy of Demons’ contains 478 full-colour pages providing a unique insight into what made him the punk icon he is today.
Pre-order the book, for delivery as soon as printed, along with some extra goodies, here.
