Inspiring interviews with Ten Poets
Our friends at Thoughts Words Action are interviewing the talented and creative poets involved in the recent Ten Poets Volume Three book. The conversations make for some very interesting and inspiring reading. I'm off to get writing something myself right now...
The first poet interviewed was Michael Bamber, a brave soul and local poetry club compere, who threw all the rules out the window and write from his heart, drawing interesting stories we can all empathise with from his memory of personal events and occurrences, especially from his awkward teenage years.
The next poet Djordje spoke with was the ever-creative and multi-talented Andrea Janov, a self-confessed nostalgic pack-rat who already has two collections of great poetry published with us; ‘Mix Tapes and Photo Albums’ and ‘Short Skirts and Whiskey Shots’. They take some time to discuss Andrea’s creative process, her core inspirations and recurring themes.
TWA then spoke with Matt Carter, a talented and busy pianist, as well as an author and poet, and wonder how he has time to fit it all in, what his catalysts and creative sparks are, and what a typical writing session might look like for him.
Next was David Mustill, a prolific and long-time poet who’s involved in various poetry events and festivals, love satire, draws inspiration from all sorts of experiences, and wisely does his best to avoid alienation and regret in any form. He feels most alive in the live performance environment.
And most recently, a conversation with Henry Long, whose distinct approach to writing makes for an interesting read. Inspired by song lyrics, sci-fi books and punk-rock, amongst a myriad of other things, his poetry and short stories might well make you want to sing, get a cat, look out a window, or take up the pen yourself.
These are some excellent conversations and there are more to come - You can read all the insightful interviews at Thoughts Words Action here: https://thoughtswordsaction.com/category/interviews/
