Alex Anesiadis reading from and signing copies of his new book, ‘Tear It Down: How Crossover Bridged Metal and Hardcore Punk’ in Stones Bar in Thessaloniki.
The latest ‘Tear It Down’ presentation was in Thessaloniki, Greece, and took place at Stones Rock Bar with an intimate and friendly attendance of around 50 people. The presentation was opened by Apostolis Themelis of Asylum Crew, and Alex talked for a while about his great new book and signed copies for anyone wanting one. Among the crowd were musicians from bands like Realist, Stygian Oath, Into the Gore and others, a mixed crowd of post-punkers, hardcore kids, metalheads and a young KPOP fan!
‘Tear It Down: How Crossover Bridged Metal and Hardcore Punk’ captures the violence, creativity, and friction that defined one of the most misunderstood movements in underground music. From widely recognised names such as Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, The Accused, and D.R.I., to overlooked but essential bands like Beyond Possession, Sacrilege B.C., Lobotomia, and Lethal Aggression, the book dismantles the idea of a single crossover narrative.
