Three and a Half Minutes of Fame film trailer
Alex Boucher is a lifelong musician and writer. Years ago, he chased the dream of making it in a 90s band; the gigs, the tours, the near misses. It was raw, chaotic, and unforgettable, and he wrote his excellent book, ‘Three and a Half Minutes of Fame’ to capture that experience. Now, together with producer Jenni Harrison and her production company Pink + Red, he’s bringing his book to the screen.
Alex’s documentary, ‘Three and a Half Minutes of Fame’, looks at what’s changed, and what hasn’t, for musicians trying to make it today. Filmed in London, Essex, and The North, talking to bands, venues, industry experts and fans to show the beating heart of live music in the UK. From the smoky clubs of the 90s to the digital hustle of streaming platforms, it’s about the passion that keeps artists going, even when the odds are against them. His vision is simple: to honour the past, champion the present, and inspire the future of independent music.
The book, ‘Three and a Half Minutes of Fame’, is available now from Earth Island Books, in most good book and record shops, and online from resellers. Now, we’re really excited to share that the trailer for the film will premiere on YouTube at 8pm UK time on 14th October!
